PDF Toolkit

PDFFree · Private

Merge, split, compress, rotate, watermark, number pages, and convert PDFs entirely in your browser — including PDF ⇄ Word. Nothing is ever uploaded.

Nothing is uploaded — all processing happens on your device. No document is ever uploaded — merging, splitting, compressing, and converting all happen on your device.

Add two or more PDFs to combine into one file.

What it can do

  • Merge — combine two or more PDFs into one, in the order you add them.
  • Split — turn one PDF into a separate file per page, downloaded as a .zip.
  • Compress — strip unused data and optimize the file structure. This is a modest, honest reduction, not a guaranteed dramatic one — it doesn't re-encode embedded images, so gains vary a lot by file.
  • Rotate — preview every page as a thumbnail and rotate individual pages, or all of them at once.
  • Watermark — stamp text across every page, with position, color, size, and opacity control.
  • Page Numbers — number every page, with a choice of position, start number, and format (1,2,3 / Page 1 of N / roman numerals).
  • Convert — PDF pages to PNG/JPG images and back, or PDF to Word and back.

What's free

Every operation here is free and unlimited, no account needed — merging, splitting, and compressing are real, valuable operations that cost money elsewhere.

What this doesn't do

There's no password protection or removal in this tool — doing that properly needs a much heavier library than anything that belongs in a browser tab, so it's left out rather than faked. Split currently splits every page individually; picking a custom page range isn't supported yet.

Privacy

Every document is read, transformed, and downloaded entirely on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I do here?
Merge two or more PDFs into one, split a PDF into one file per page, compress a PDF to reduce its size, rotate individual pages, stamp a text watermark across every page, add page numbers, or convert between PDF pages and PNG/JPG images, PDF and Word, in either direction.
How good is the compression?
Honestly modest — it strips unused and duplicate data and optimizes the file structure, but it doesn't re-encode embedded images (that needs a much heavier pipeline than a browser tab can reasonably run). Results vary a lot by file; you'll see the real before-and-after size, not a promised percentage.
Can I add or remove a password?
Not in this tool. PDF encryption needs a materially heavier library than anything else used here, so rather than fake it, it's left out for now.
How does PDF to Word conversion work — will it keep my formatting?
Text and paragraph breaks carry over, with a page break wherever the original PDF had one. Original fonts, images, columns, and exact layout don't — reconstructing a PDF's visual layout as real, editable Word formatting needs a much heavier engine than fits in a browser tab, so this gives you the words back in a clean, readable document rather than a pixel-perfect (and much heavier) recreation.
How does Word to PDF work?
It renders your .docx as HTML, shows you a preview, then opens your browser's own print dialog with "Save as PDF" as the target. No library that runs in a browser tab can lay out real PDF pages from arbitrary document formatting as reliably as a browser's own print engine already does, so this uses that instead of a fragile from-scratch layout attempt.
Is there a free way to use this?
Yes — every operation here is free and unlimited, no account needed, the same as every other tool on this site — including real, valuable operations that tools like iLovePDF charge for.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every document is read, transformed, and downloaded entirely on your device — nothing is ever sent to a server.
