Background Remover

ImagesFree · Private

Remove or replace your photo's background, crop it to LinkedIn-ready dimensions, and adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation — all on-device with an in-browser AI segmentation model. Nothing uploaded.

Nothing is uploaded — all processing happens on your device. No photo is ever uploaded — background removal, cropping, color adjustments, and export all happen on your device.

Upload a photo to get started — a clear, front-facing photo works best.

How to use it

  1. Upload a clear, front-facing photo.
  2. Optionally crop it to a square, then click "Remove Background" — the first use downloads a small AI model, cached after that.
  3. Pick a background: a solid color, a custom color, or a softly blurred version of your original background.
  4. Fine-tune brightness, contrast, and saturation, then download as .png (transparent-friendly) or .jpg.

What this is — and isn't

This tool removes or replaces the background of a photo you already have, using an on-device AI model. It does not generate a new photorealistic photo of you in a different outfit or pose — that requires training a custom model per person on powerful cloud hardware, a fundamentally different (and much heavier) process than anything that can run in a browser tab. This tool sticks to what's honestly achievable on-device: background removal, cropping, and color adjustment.

Privacy

Your photo never leaves this browser tab. Background removal, cropping, color adjustments, and export all run locally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this generate a new AI photo of me, like the paid headshot apps?
No — and it's worth being upfront about that. Services that generate photorealistic headshots in new outfits and backgrounds train a custom model on dozens of your photos using cloud GPUs, which is a completely different scale of computing than a browser tab can do on-device. This tool works with the photo you already have: it removes or replaces the background, crops it to the right shape, and adjusts lighting/color — real, useful prep work, not a generated photo.
How does the background removal work?
A small AI model runs entirely in your browser to separate you from the background. The first use downloads the model once (cached after that); every photo you process after that runs fully on-device.
What can I do with the background once it's removed?
Replace it with a solid color (a few presets or any custom color), or keep a softly blurred version of your original background — both common looks for professional headshots.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo never leaves your browser tab — background removal, cropping, color adjustments, and export all happen on your device.
